2007 Kawsaki KLR 650

Here is another photo of the new 2007 Kawsaki KLR 650. Nothing has changed on the 2007 model excpet the BMW like paint scheme. I like this alot over the red and green colors. I will post pics of my bike brand new and after I get it muddy in the Catskill mountains. My next trip will be to the Woodward, PA area and the windy mountain and fire roads.

2007 Kawasaki Versys

2007 Kawasaki Versys

Before Buyimg my 2007 Kawasaki KLR650 from Rusty Palmers in Honesdale, PA. I really wanted to get the new Kawasaki Versys naked bike. This bike looks great. Up there with the Ducatis. I was disappointed that only the europeans would be able to buy this bike. I hope Kawasaki makes it available state side one day.

Regardless, I have included the specifications on this really cool bike.

Tuned for low-mid range torque

When tuning the 649 cm³ Parallel Twin engine of the new Kawasaki Versys, the engineers' first priority was to find throttle response that balanced a powerful feeling and a quick-revving character. To optimise performance for everyday riding, care was taken to maximise low-mid range torque.

* Intake and exhaust cams with short operating angles move the torque curve toward the lower end of the rpm range.

* To achieve smooth power and torque curves, the exhaust system makes use of a balance tube.

* Fuel injection settings for the Versys were selected primarily to deliver a strong powerful feeling when the throttle is opened.

* Performance and feel were optimised for the mid-range (3,000-6,000 rpm).

The above settings result in a performance that favours speeds most used in everyday riding: the range in and around 80-120 km/h.

Versys

A reassuring feeling combined with that hard to define fluid response to your every action, that’s Versys. The dynamic and commanding upright seating position offers the perfect view for a flowing ride through dense city traffic or twisty country roads.

The 649cc parallel twin engine is tuned to respond at any rpm, especially down low. When they demand instant power, a Versys rider is never left short.

With the distinctive handling characteristics and the optimised feedback of the Versys, riders will find that they really can call the shots, nailing their chosen line with ease or attacking an apex with precision. And above all, the long-stroke suspension delivers the freedom for fun even on rough roads.

At the very heart of motorcycling lies the singular enjoyment of the ride – not merely negotiating the conditions, but revelling in them. Like a surfer on a wave, you’ll make each ride your own.

The spirit of street surfing – that's the fluid spirit and response of the Kawasaki Versys.

INTRODUCTION
Legendary comfort and versatility wherever your adventures take you

The KLR650 is one of those rare motorcycles with the ability to play just about any role its rider chooses. The KLR’s roomy ergonomics, bump swallowing suspension, large fuel capacity and efficient engine provide riders with amazing range and the versatility to travel far beyond city streets or highways. Equipped with optional Kawasaki accessories, the KLR650 might just be the ultimate world traveler.

Power for the KLR650 comes from a strong, dual overhead cam, four-valve, liquid-cooled, single cylinder, 651cc four-stroke engine. The engine provides a wide range of power equally suitable for negotiating low-speed trails and cruising at a more brisk highway pace. An engine crankshaft counterbalancer and electric starter provide additional rider comfort and convenience.

The frame for the KLR650 is made of round-section high-tensile steel, and a detachable rear subframe simplifies maintenance by providing easier access to the airbox, carburetor and rear shock. Adjustable, long-travel suspension provides a plush ride on both pavement and off-road.

A U.S. Forest Service-approved spark arrestor provides access to any road open to licensed vehicles, while a sturdy engine guard protects the engine from loose rocks and gravel. With an optional Kawasaki tank bag and soft luggage on the large standard rear rack, KLR650 owners can tote enough gear for an extended trip to any remote location.
